BURCH: There is still more work to do

QUEEN’S PARK – Following the passing of Bill 9, NDP Shadow Minister for Municipal Affairs MPP Jeff Burch (Niagara Centre) has released this statement:

“I want to congratulate all of the advocates who have worked tirelessly on this issue for more than four years, including Emily McIntosh, founder of the Women of Ontario Say No, a grassroots organization of women including citizens, municipal councilors, staff and survivors.

“The passage of Bill 9 is a positive step forward. However, there is still more work to do, including ensuring that there is a reasonable process for removal of elected officials for egregious acts of sexual harassment and violence.”
